At Yukon Energy, we believe in the importance of educating tomorrow's generation about energy conservation, the environment, and electrical safety. To this end we are a big supporter of energy and science fairs and we offer school tours of our Whitehorse facility. We continue to make improvements to our fishladder to make a visit there as educational and enjoyable as possible.
We have also worked with the Yukon's Department of Education and the Kwanlin Dun First Nation on curriculum-relevant materials that can be used in the classroom, including a brochure, and a DVD that details the life cycle of the chinook salmon. In addition, we have produced material to help young children understand the dangers of playing near dams.
We are currently working with the Department of Education and BC Hydro to develop some cirriculum materials related to energy conservation.
