Swan-Cam

The swans have left the Southern Yukon and so our swan cam has been turned off until the spring of 2011.  We thank M’Clintock Bay resident Peter Heebink for his assistance in setting up this swan cam.

Note that when operating, the camera is located on the northwestern shore of M'Clintock Bay at the north end of Marsh Lake, Yukon. The camera looks amost due south towards the opposite shore where there is open water formed by a deep channel at the Yukon River outflow. The best viewing times are generally in the late afternoon and evening when the sun is behind the camera. The light is also be good early in the morning, although there is often fog at this time of day from the cold nights.

Below is a short video taken inside the fishladder at a time the Chinook salmon were running.
