Whitehorse Food Bank
The Whitehorse Food Bank Society opened its doors in the spring of 2009. Since then it has served hundreds of Yukoners.
Yukon Energy has helped by donating $20,000 over two years and a refurbished van full of non-perishable goods. The food was provided by Yukon Energy employees.
Yukon Energy staff also supplied a second donation of goods to the food bank during the first week of school in September 2009. That week was chosen as a way to focus on healthy food for families with young children. No child should have to go to school hungry and Yukon Energy hopes our contribution helped those families at a time when they had added expenses such as school supplies and clothing.
