Yukon Energy has been a proud supporter of the Millennium Trail – a paved path that stretches from the Robert Campbell Bridge to the Fish Ladder on the east side of the Yukon River, and from the bridge to Robert Service Campground on the west side. It is the first trail in Whitehorse that is accessible to people in wheelchairs and has been used by hundreds of visitors and residents since it opened in 2003.
Yukon Energy and the other major partners in this project (the City of Whitehorse, the Yukon Council on Disability, the Riverdale Community Association, the Yukon Canoe and Kayak Club and the Whitehorse Rotary Clubs, among others) later partnered on the construction of a pedestrian bridge across the Yukon River, which connects the two ends of the trail.
Yukon Energy contributed $100,000 towards the Millennium Trail and the Rotary Centennial Bridge.
